New Ownership

Welp, here we are – the dawn of a new era in evebloggers.com! As most of you will know, a little while ago the founder of Evebloggers.com, Black Claw, decided that his schedule would no longer permit maintaining the site. His initial plan was to let the domain expire and let the community come up with a replacement. However, the MAGNIFICENT AND GLORIOUS Marc Scaurus of The Tuskers asked a simple question – could the domain just be transferred?

Fast forward about a month and here we are. Evebloggers.com is safe in my hands and back in action. Just today 20 New Blogs were added to the list! However, the transition has not been without its hiccups and I’m sure there will be more in the near future as I get things sorted out – so please bear with me for a little while at least. That being said, Evebloggers.com is back to accepting new entries into the Master Eve Blog List, so please leave a comment here with your blog’s URL and I’ll get it added to the list.

Also, if you have any suggestions on improvements that could be made to the site, please let me know! One issue that I will be addressing right away are the banner ads that populate the front page – ideally I would like to make these less intrusive, however I also don’t want to completely break the site (again) – but I’ll do what I can after getting in contact with the banner owners.

At any rate, I look forward to continuing the fine tradition that Black Claw created with Evebloggers.com. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any issues you have with the site – via email (evebloggers@gmail.com) or on Twitter (@evebloggers). Thanks for your patience!

Blog smart,
Marc

An apology and a community update

An apology

First up, I want to apologise to you all for the recent inaction with adding new blogs to this site.  There’s been two main reasons for this.

  1. I’ve been really busy with OUCH and the Art of War Alliance and have not had time to focus on updating evebloggers.com with new blog updates.
  2. What time I HAVE had for evebloggers.com has been spent trying to find a method of allowing people to add their own blogs to evebloggers.com so that I don’t have to continue doing the updates myself.
  3. I’ve gotten discouraged by the lack of ‘community’ by those who say they’re in it for the community.

Community. Really?

I’ve tried to get Crazy Kinux to integrate his efforts into a community portal at www.evebloggers.com.  He’s not interested and wants to stay separate.  I’ve also tried to Mandrill at The Blogs of Eve Online to integrate his efforts into evebloggers.com but he’s not interested either.

So be it. It’s not like I’ve wanted to take their work away from them, I just wanted everyone to be working together on a single Eve Bloggers Portal and promote a single Eve blogging community.  But they’re not interested, and I find that a little  discouraging.

But not discouraging enough to cause me to throw the towel in.   (I didn’t realise I was competing for the biggest and best community, but that seems to be how it’s looking…)

Changes coming soon

I’m working on a new project for evebloggers.com which, if I can bring it together, is going to be huge.  It’s going to be better than what evebloggers.com currently is. Internet technology is starting to catch up with my ideas, and so I’m working on bringing those ideas into reality, but it might be a little while before it happens.

Want to help?

If you would like to assist evebloggers.com in moving forward, please contact me at evebloggers@gmail.com or my character/s in-game (Black Claw or Alexia Morgan) to discuss how you can help out.

To those who have continued to support and promote evebloggers.com, I thank you for your support. It’s because of you that I keep going with this, and it will be because of you that it evolves to become something bigger and better than what it currently is.
